Cassari Group were asked to assist with some modifications to an existing private school boarding house. The goal was to modernize and make better use of the space in the lower level of this boarding house and to revitalize the main reception area. The lower level was originally very dark area with low ceilings and clutter.

The works involved demolishing the lower area and installing new structural steel roof framing, new structural steel beams supporting the upper floor were installed to increase the open plan design. New perimeter brick walls and a bi-fold door opening to an outdoor area were introduced. This combined with 2 new skylights provide additional light into the once dark area. New higher ceilings were installed and new carpet throughout. As part of the design, we created several dedicated study areas for the students to gather and be able to focus on their work, in either a group or individually.

In the reception area, some old storerooms were demolished and made room for a new sitting area. New wall cladding, carpets and reception desk completed the reception transformation.
